Toward the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the website

<< Greeting >>

Exactly 20 years ago today, I opened and published my personal website "The World of Kozaburo".
Since then, we have been very honored and delighted to have received the support of a total of 238,000 people.

With the advent of Windows XP, personal computers at that time became an environment where anyone could easily get used to the new society of the Internet.
As a result, both companies and individuals have set up websites at the same time and have attracted attention as a place to appeal to their uniqueness.

At the same time, in April of this year, I decided to retire from the company where I had worked for 42 years.
Retirement means that I have some free time to do what I have left undone in my next life.
I want to deepen my paintings. And my wish to master ceramics even more came true.

What was important was that there was also a need for a place to present the two in order to make them more meaningful.
All of these factors inevitably drove me to set up a website.

At that time, there were two main ways to set up a website.
One is to ask a company called a website builder to give you an opinion on what kind of website you want to create, and pay the corresponding money.
The other is to learn the software for creating HP and acquire the skills to embody the design of the page on the computer.

At that time, software engineers were all trying to make money from pin to nail like bamboo shoots after rain.
It's an important document for me to stake my second life on, and I'm going to build it with my own hands. This kind of guy is not trustworthy.
Okay, so I decided to learn the software myself and let them express themselves freely on the web.

First of all, I went to a bookstore Mr./Ms. and bought a book called "Creating a Website from Scratch" (Introduction to HTML).
The happy words that danced in my eyes: "It's only 3 days until completion" Okay, I can do this!
And when I managed to complete the HP I made myself and released it, it took three months.

Nothing in life is going to be easy, and the more you struggle with PC, the more it will serve as your sustenance.
However, due to my efforts at that time, Windows has been upgraded many times in the past in the name of ensuring safety.
It was also a considerable advantage to be able to deal with the software deficiencies on my own each time.

And if you save the documents that you have accumulated so far as objects, they will accumulate as a huge amount of materials.
When we launched this website, we thought about what to do with the provider, and we looked at the ones that would manage it responsibly into the future.
And now that I have chosen "Biglobe" under the control of NEC Electronics Manufacturer, it was the right decision.
The builders and providers that were so thriving and proliferating at the time were almost wiped out in 20 years.
I now have a lifetime of data here as a 950MKB document.
Of this huge amount of data, that time I want to see now! I wonder what number of drawers in which chest of drawers, and what color box it is in.
Of course, it is shared by my computer, my provider, Biglobe, and my "brain".
I have already bought a new computer many times and upgraded it. My brain is holding on somehow.
However, while Biglobe does cost money, I can rely on them to ensure that my important data is protected and disclosed when I need it.
That's right, my brain, which can't be replaced, doesn't have time to blur, thank goodness.

From now on, we will continue to document Kozaburo's way of life, albeit in small ways. We look forward to your continued patronage.
